Ask a Local Realtor: Any Advice for Someone Coming to Ocean City for the First Time?

Are you coming to Ocean City for the first time? This one’s for you.

In this week’s Ask A Realtor, we ask Ryan Haley if he has any advice for first-time visitors. Here’s what he has to say.

“What's the best advice I can give to somebody visiting Ocean City for the first time?

“Two things come to mind right away.

“1. Only swim when the lifeguards are on duty. Every day in the summer between 10 am and 5:30 pm, lifeguards are in the stands. They're out there patrolling our beaches, keeping us safe. You never know what the ocean conditions are going to be like, and they change every day, even for experienced swimmers.

“2. Only cross Coastal Highway at the crosswalk and wait for the light to change. Unfortunately, every year, we have situations where people did not follow this advice and pay a penalty for that.

“So, for your safety, swim near a lifeguard and cross at the crosswalk.”
