Based on experience, the holidays can be one of the best times to sell a home. Here's why. 

  1.  More serious buyers during the holidays

    The holiday season brings out buyers who have a tendency to be more serious. If buyers love your property during the cold season and during one of their busiest times of the year as they prepare for the holidays, then they are typically a more serious type of buyer. 
  2. For tax purposes

    Because of tax purposes, many buyers may feel motivated to invest prior to the end of the tax year. In the resort market, there are many second-home owners who are looking to sell or get a property off their books prior to the end of the tax year. The same holds true for a buyer who is looking to make a purchase before the end of the tax year due to tax reasons.  
  3. Holiday decorations

    Most homes often look their best when decorated for the holidays. These decorations give a sense of warmth that make buyers fall in love with your home. 
  4. Buyers have time to prepare for spring and summer. 

    Buyers are looking to purchase now to prepare their new properties for the spring and summer months when there are more people coming to Ocean City. 
  5. To take advantage of low inventory

    As a seller, you can stand out from the crowd by listing your home when there is less supply and more demand. 

    Probably the top reason to sell now is because of the low inventory and high demand market. The month of December brings in even fewer sellers to the market, so if you want to stand out from the crowd and get as many eyes on your listing, now is the best time to do it.
